I hate to break the news to you, but summer is shorter than you think. It seems like in the blink of an eye, the kids are going back to school, the days are getting shorter and that unmistakable chill is back in the air.
If you’re like me, there’s one thing that can cure those back to school blues and that’s some much needed shopping therapy. When the going gets tough the tough go shopping and I am certainly one that likes to drown my sorrows at the mall.
Fortunately, with fall coming, you have a real, legitimate reason to head to the mall and that’s to stock up on some cool weather items. When you’re out doing your shopping, here are some essentials to look out for.
As temperatures drop, you will find yourself in need of a few good jackets. A leather jacket is a terrific staple. Not too warm and not too cool, this is the perfect thing for protecting you against the chill. Oh, and did we mention you will always look cool AF?
Fall is a great time to cozy up with a nice, snuggly sweater. We love this gray sweater because it manages to have a comfy look yet its form fit and lace up sleeves give it a sexy look and a stylish edge.
A good pair of boots is a must in the fall. Not too casual and not overly dressy, boots can give a sophisticated look to any outfit. It’s a good idea to include both low and high boots in your wardrobe in a variety of colors including neutrals and a few brights.
Some women like to wear jeans throughout the summer, but come fall, it’s time to hunker down with a nice pair of slacks that will look great with those long sleeved sweaters and blouses. This year, flares are expected to come back big time. Form fitting on top and loose on the bottom is the way to go as we time travel back to the 60’s.
Button Front Shirts
Button front shirts are another must when it comes to completing those elegant fall looks. We love how this floral number works to brighten up an autumn day.
Cardigans are just about the comfiest thing you can wear. They are perfect for those early fall days when you are chilly but can’t quite commit to wearing a jacket. What’s more, they are also terrific for layering as they are lightweight enough to be stuffed into a tote.
Those fall looks just aren’t complete unless you have a great fall purse to complement the look. Put those white and pastel numbers into storage and make sure you have a few leather dealies in colors like black, brown, deep red and emerald green. If you like an alternative look check out this number complete with chains and patches.
Fall is coming, like it or not. These looks will ensure you are ready for whatever comes your way. Which fall fashions can you not be without?
