There is no doubt that the pandemic has changed everything. All aspects of life have been affected from how we socialize to what we wear to the things we do on a daily basis.
When it comes to fashion, the initial reaction was one of panic. With runway events and conferences canceled, designers struggled to come up with solutions for releasing new lines. Production slowed down and many were forced to slash their prices.
Now that the world is opening up, things are moving forward, but today’s fashion trends are being heavily influenced by the lifestyle changes that came with the pandemic. Here are some pandemic era trends you will want to be aware of.
Athleisurewear is Bigger Than Ever
The athleisurewear trend was on the rise before the pandemic started. People love it because it’s versatile, energizing and comfortable.
Now it has gotten bigger than ever.
With people staying home, there is no need to be overly dressy. Instead, they are wearing pieces that are casual, comfortable and still acceptable if you need to hop on a video conference call.
And with reduced forms of recreation available, more people are going outside to hike, bike and exercise.
It’s obvious to see why athleisurewear is the choice for the many who are working from home or temporarily unemployed. Be sure to stock up on leggings, tanks, sports bras, hoodies and sweats to get on board with what’s comfy and convenient.
Say Yes to the Dress
You may be shocked to find dresses being recommended as a coronavirus friendly fashion. But here’s the thing.
A lot of dresses are super easy to put on and get off. What’s more, all you need to do is pull them out of your wardrobe and you have your entire outfit for the day.
The fact that dresses are easy makes them a favorite for work at homers and others that want no fuss fashion during the pandemic.
The cold weather is coming. We all know the rules about saving energy. Thermometers should be turned low during the middle of the day.
While this is not a big deal when we are out at work during times when heat will be turned down, if we are staying home, it could make for a chilly indoor atmosphere. You will definitely need a nice warm sweater so you can stay comfy and cozy.
Sweaters also make it easy to transition from indoors to outdoors if you are thinking of taking a quick walk.
Sweaters and cardigans are always in style and they provide a sophisticated look that is perfect for dressing up a casual outfit.
No matter what your political stance on masks is, I think we all can agree, no one really likes to wear one. But if you’re gonna do it, you should at least look cute when doing so. Fortunately, there are plenty of prints and designs that make mask wearing fashionable.
Mask styles and neck gaiters are available. You can get masks with florals, animal prints, vibrant colors and more. You can even get one for each outfit you wear.
Much like a dress, rompers are also easy to wear. They are just one piece so all you need to do is take one out of the closet, step into it, pull it up and, voila, you’re dressed!
Some rompers are so comfortable, you’ll feel like you’re still in your pajamas when you wear one. But if you have to jump on a conference call, you will still look presentable.
The pandemic hasn’t been fun for anyone, but it has opened the door for a lot of casual fashions that will keep you looking cute and staying comfortable while staying at home. What do you like to wear when you’re locking down?
