To keep this from happening to you, read on to find out about some must-have wardrobe essentials.

The White Tee

A white tee shirt can be dressed up or be dressed down. It can go with just about anything. It can be worn with jeans, a skirt, under a jacket, with shorts… and the list goes on.

It’s a good idea to have a white tee in your wardrobe, but it’s even better to have two or three. They are white after all!

Little Black Dress

Little black dresses should no be overly detailed but they should have a nice fit and a versatile cut. You might find some that are dressier. You can buy these as well but they may not truly take the place of THEE little black dress.A little black dress can take you from day time to night time in a pinch. It will be good for almost any occasion, it is easy to style and you can add accessories for formal occasions or go for more a minimal, causal look.

Dark Wash Skinny Jeans

Flattering and neat, dark wash skinny jeans will also be perfect for any occasion. Their darker wash will give them a dressier look so you may even be able to wear them to work and to less formal events. They will also be great when you’re kicking it with the homies.

Button Up Shirt

A button up shirt is another item that goes well with just about anything and it can be worn with casual or dressy looks. Every woman should have at least one button up in her wardrobe, but I recommend a few including prints and solids.

Knee Length Skirt

Every professional woman needs a knee length skirt. Not too sexy but sexy enough, a knee length skirt will be a go-to when you need something to wear to the office. No matter what you wear with it, it will provide a polished look.

Simple Flats

Simple flats will look great with a skirt or pants and they are easy to slip into and out of. They have a dressy look but they are not overly dressy and they tend to be a lot comfier than heels. Some argue that every woman should have a pair of pumps as well but I say flats do the trick.

Wrap Dress

Some women stay away from dresses because they feel they are just too dressy. However, dresses are one of the easiest things you can wear. Just throw one on with a pair of shoes and a few simple accessories and you are good to go.

When thinking of dresses, a wrap dress can’t be beat. It cinches in the middle to accentuate the bust and waistline and it falls softly over the hips to give you a great hour glass shape. It’s fitting for all occasions and it has a classic look that will never go out of style.

Jean Jacket

Jean jackets are great for keeping you warm in the spring and fall. They go with just about any color or style and they have a timeless look that endures every trend. My advice is to get a few colors and even some with a lining so you can wear them all year long.

Ankle Boots

Ankle boots provide a somewhat formal although not overly dressy look that works well for almost any occasion. If you get a brown pair and a black pair, you should be good to go…and if you want to get a bit adventurous with color, that’s cool too!

Get a closed toe pair for the winter and an open toe version for the summer so you can rock the look year round.

Black Pants

This one really doesn’t require an explanation. I mean, what gal doesn’t have black pants? They have a slimming look, they go with just about anything and they are great for various occasions.

While a pair of black trousers are in order, be sure to have a pair of black skinny jeans for more causal occasions as well.

Now that you know the essentials your wardrobe needs, which of these will you be adding to your closet?
