Face masks are made in a wide range of colors and prints. Plaids and ginghams, floral patterns, animal prints, paisleys and vibrant solids are just some looks you might want to look out for. There are also some that have a patriotic style allowing people to wear their country’s flags on their face.
Musicians have gotten on the bandwagon and many are selling face masks with their band names and logos printed on them. Other rocker looks include skulls, skeleton masks and steam punk fashions.
If you want to add some humor to your face mask look, you can even wear the ‘mouth’ of your favorite celebrity. Joe Exotic, Michael Jackson and Mick Jagger are just a few you can choose from.
When it comes to design, we are used to seeing the classic look which covers the mouth and nose and is fastened to the face with ear loops. However, there are variations available.
For one, some like a facemask to have a scarf like look. Of course, bandanas can be worn, but an easier solution is to wear a mask that goes up over the nose and also comes down around the neck. This makes for a style that is fashionable and effortless.
Some brands are making reversible face masks. You can turn them over to feature a different design every other day.
Other masks provide an adjustable fit. This can be achieved with a bendable strip along the bridge of the nose but some tie in the back so they will fit your head perfectly.
Most masks are made of cotton or some sort of cotton blend. This makes sense as cotton is a durable material that is easy to care for. However, some masks are made of materials with high thread counts that are guaranteed to be soft on the face.
Mask Wearing Tips
Masks are worn to provide protection from the coronavirus, but you must be careful to wear them and put them on and remove them correctly to avoid the spread of germs.
For best results, clean and wash your hands before and after putting on and removing the mask. Use only the straps to put it on and take it off and avoid touching any areas that come directly into contact with your nose or mouth.
Wash your mask regularly. You can do this by putting it in the washing machine on a warm water cycle or you can wash it by hand in warm soapy water. Once the mask is clean and dry, avoid putting it on surfaces where it can become contaminated.
Finally, make sure your mask fits correctly. Your mask should fit snuggly around the mouth and nose area, but it should not restrict breathing. And while small gaps are unavoidable, the mask should be tight enough to keep germs out.
