While just about any item can make a great investment, the ones that you wear most often and really count on to be good quality will the ones you want to spend a little more on. With that in mind, here are some pieces that might require your entire paycheck, but it will be well worth it.

Coat/Jacket

Most people will buy at least one jacket for every season. It is a good idea to have at least one lightweight jacket, one for winter weather and maybe a third that serves as a waterproof rain jacket.

If you are wearing these jackets every day each season, or even every other day, that adds up to a lot of wear! Therefore, you will want the jacket to be durable, attractive and comfortable. Winter jackets should also be well insulated.

When you consider all that goes in to making a good winter jacket, it is no wonder that one can easily cost upwards of a hundred dollars. However, this is a more affordable option in comparison to buying a jacket that needs to be replaced every year.

Note: When buying a jacket, go for one with a classic look to ensure it won’t go out of style the following season. A neutral color will also be best as it will go with most of your outfits.

Shoes

For the most part, the rules that apply to jackets apply to shoes as well.

It’s a good idea to have at least one pair of shoes for each season. For the winter, you will want to have at least one pair of closed toe boots although it’s a good idea to have a waterproof pair as well as a leather-based selection.

During the summer, those who suffer with the heat will want some open toe sandals.

In addition, you may want to have a couple of dressy pairs as well as sneakers for activewear.

Investing a little more in a pair of shoes is a good idea. Take it from someone who has experienced having inexpensive shoes break apart on the first wear…it just isn’t worth it!

Purse

A purse isn’t as much of an essential as the other items listed, but having a good durable purse can mean a lot. While some women may get a few cheaper handbags, having at least one that you can count on will be a lifesaver on vacations, family outings and all-day events.

When looking for a purse to invest in, make sure to choose one with a classic look that comes in a color that goes with everything. While smaller purses can be fun and luxurious, when you are going for a purse you can count on, make it one that comes in a larger size. That way you will have one you can dump everything in without having to worry about it breaking.

So, the next top you shop for a necessity, don’t’ be afraid to splurge a bit. Investing in these items will be worth it in the long run. Good luck and happy shopping!
