Winter is a great time to hit the mountains and do some skiing. If you are an outdoor enthusiast, it’s likely that you make the time to ski at least once a year.
Skiing can be a great little getaway, but one thing that you may not look forward to is packing for your trip. You have to think of ski clothing, everyday clothing, survival items, winter accessories and more.
Well, while we can’t pack everything for you, we can provide you with an article that will ensure you don’t forget anything. Read on to find out what you will need to bring on your next ski trip.
When it comes to ski clothing, think of items that will keep you warm and dry. A waterproof down jacket is a must.
Pair it with ski pants and put plenty of layers underneath.
Keep your extremities warm with a good hat and a waterproof pair of gloves or mittens.
And don’t forget that the sun will reflect on the snow to produce a bright glare. Make sure to bring along a durable pair of sunglasses.
Remember, you’re not going to be spending your entire trip on the slopes. Therefore, you will need some clothing to wear out and about.
You may have a formal occasion to attend while you’re on your trip, but in general, the ski lodge look is casual and comfy. With that in mind, here are a few items you’ll want to bring along.
Jeans come in a variety of shapes and sizes. Grab a pair of your most comfortable and you will be good to go.
Looking stylish is all well and good, but when it comes to ski lodge casual, make warmth a priority. When it comes to warmth, nothing is better than a sweater or a good old flannel.
Not warm enough in your flannel or sweater? A nice cardigan should fix all that!
It’s probably going to be snowy everywhere you go. Wear shoes that are warm and provide traction. You really can’t beat a pair of good snow boots.
After a day on the slopes, nothing will feel better than snuggling up in some warm pajamas. If it’s still early, a good pair of yoga pants will make you feel just as comfy…and no one will laugh at you when you walk around the lodge!
For hanging out in the hot tub of course!
Now you should have a pretty good idea of what to pack as far as clothing goes. Here are a few other items you will want to include.
Toiletries: Yeah, don’t forget the hairbrush, deodorant and toothbrush, but you will also want to make sure to take along sunscreen. As mentioned before, the glare off the snow can get pretty brutal so you’ll want to make sure your skin is protected.
Survival Items: It is possible to get lost or injured on the slopes. Even though they have pretty good security, you should be sure to take along water, small snacks and a first aid kit. These items will be even more essential if you are skiing in unchartered territory.
Miscellaneous: Here we’re talking about any smart devices, wallets, ID and of course, your tickets if you bought them in advance.
The information in this article will have you well prepared for your ski vacation. Have fun hitting the slopes!
